Starting the day energized after a Zumba routine, students from Benavides Elementary in Eagle Pass, TX are set for a day at school. Thanks to Letty (Letty's Dance Studio), Monica from TX Ag Extension Office, DSHS staff and community health workers from the Mexican Consulate VDS for volunteering their time to teach students about nutrition and physical activity. Thanks to these great volunteers 5th and 6th grade students are learning about MyPlate, reading food labels and other essential lessons that will help them adopt healthy habits early in life.
