The HOPE-K THC in partnership with Southwest Border AHEC and the DSHS-Office of Border Health are planning an informative educational session with promotores and local beauticians in Eagle Pass, Texas. Because the beauty salon is a place where women spend many hours it makes it an ideal place to talk about breast cancer prevention. Local beauticians participating in this event will also have the opportunity to participate in the Pony Tail for Love event. Any person wishing to donate at least 10 inches of their hair will receive a free haircut and the satisfaction of having donated their hair for the purpose of making a wig for women suffering from cancer.
